Finding Us:
Driving: Look for our sign at the entrance to the drive which runs alongside a row of terraced houses.
Public Transport: Busses operated by Cheshire East Council run to Middlewich six times a day from nearby towns. While Middlewich doesn't have a train station, there are stations in Winsford, Northwich, Holmes Chapel, and Sandbach. We recommend checking public transport options and timetables in advance, especially if travelling from further distances.
Setting:
Nestled behind terraced housing, Middlewich Cricket Club boasts a delightful setting for a day of cricket. The car park and clubhouse offer a convenient base, while mature trees on the far side of the ground add a touch of character. Enjoy a relaxing day watching cricket, and afterwards, explore the town's selection of pubs, restaurants, and supermarkets.
Heritage:
Established over a century ago, Middlewich Cricket Club boasts a rich history. The Haddon Field ground is held in trust specifically for the cricket club, ensuring its legacy. The club competes within the Cheshire league structure, with past achievements reaching as high as Division 1. Middlewich Cricket Club fosters the love of the game through its annual St Marys Trophy competition for local primary schools and by hosting representative teams from across the nation.
Spectator Information:
A warm welcome awaits everyone! Feel free to come and enjoy a match at our friendly club. We have benches available on the boundary, but bringing a folding chair is recommended for additional comfort. We kindly ask spectators to uphold cricket etiquette and spirit.
Admission:
Entry is free. Donations to support our youth cricket program are gratefully accepted at the bar using your bank card. There's no pressure to donate, but your contribution helps us nurture future generations of cricketers.
Parking:
Follow the signs to the club and turn off onto the drive. Spectator parking is located right inside the entrance gate. Spaces can fill up on match days, so consider alternative options if the car park is full. You can see the official town car parks here.
Disabled Access:
We are committed to improving accessibility at our club. Currently, the car park surface can be uneven due to ruts. While an all-terrain wheelchair may be helpful on the grass after wet weather, the clubhouse entrance and toilets have steps. We are actively fundraising to make accessibility improvements, and in the meantime, please reach out to a club member if you require assistance.
Facilities:
Toilets are located in the pavilion.
The pavilion bar offers draft local beer, bottled lagers, snacks (sweet & savory), tea, and coffee. Please note that the club is run by volunteers, so the bar may not always be staffed.
Dogs:
Well-behaved dogs on a leash are welcome at the ground. To ensure everyone's enjoyment and safety:
Please keep your dog on a leash during matches and training sessions.
Be a responsible pet parent and clean up after your dog. Waste disposal bins are conveniently located around the ground.
We look forward to seeing you at our club soon!
